I have been quite busy with life... traveling from place to place to conduct training....So when I arrived home, I decided to bring my family out for a short fun and adventure. Its summer time already and I feel guilty that I have not even brought my 8 year old son for a summer vacation. So just shortly after arriving from my training in Davao last April 12-14, 2012, I brought my family out for a trip within our province... Cebu...
Our Destination - Palanas Mountain Resort, Boljoon, Cebu Province. The idea actually came up after reading a blog from a friend of mine who went there just recently during the holy week. So we pack our bags and went to the site.. Actually I have never heard of the resort til I was able to read the blog. So it was as rather exciting and intriguing considering that I do not know much what to expect.
Well, the trip was aroun 2 hours drive, it was not difficult to find since there was a sign on the main road (Palanas Mountain Resort) but the road heading there was quite far.. (around 12 kms. from the main road).
Nevertheless, I would say that the trip was well worth it. We arrive at the resort and found out that we were the only guest at that time. It's like renting the whole resort for ourselves. Our room was also very nice, just outside is the swimming pool. Eventually after arrival we toured the area and from there, I could say.. this is it..
Peaceful, Quite and very relaxing....
The area is more or less 12 hectares and is development is on going. Our room is situated next to the pool, which is obviously great. My son did not lose any time dipping on the pool trying his new mask and snorkil.
Later part in the afternoon, we went fishing in their pond, we have to since dinner would depend on our catch. Well, we do brought along some pork for grilling. Should you wish to go there, I suggest that you also bring some food for cooking an some snacks or even canned goods. They do have a store in the area but it would be great to bring those that you prefer to eat.
I never had any luck in fishing so I did not bother to try, rather my wife and son were patient enough to do the fishing and the result.....Our delicious dinner.... After dinner we dip in the swimming pool once again and spent the rest of the evening having fun and enjoying the cool breeze of the mountain accompanied by the sound of nature.....
When morning came, and after taking breakfast, we packed our things and headed back our way. But instead of going home, I decided to go the beach.
We went directly to Dakong Bato Beach Resort. The resort got its name since it used to be nothing but rocks near the sea.... know more about Dakong Bato on my next post....

Happy Birthday Mama Mary
Well, I know that I am one day late but that does not mean I can not post this. I was heading home when I noticed this on the side of the road. I really do not know if when was this placed since I have been cruising this road time and time again.
It was only this time that I have noticed this and perhaps just right in time for Mama Mary's Birthday. So Let me say.. Happy Birthday Mama Mary....
Well if you take a closer look, you would see the image of Mama Mary inside this natural hole of the tree. This is in Canjulao, Lapu-lapu City. If your from the Lapu-lapu City Central School, heading towards Babag, then you will be passing this tree located on the right side.
Here, take a closer look:
Perhaps if you pass the road try to stop over the site, say Hi to Mama Mary.

Recycle and Help Save The Environment
What do you do with plastic containers after using them? Do you throw them away or recycle. Stopping over the terminal in Trento, Davao Del Sur, I could not help myself but take a picture of this guy who was sitting in the terminal doing his craft....
The tools of the trade were plastic bottles, straws, a cutter, a lighter and a lot of creativity and imagination. I would say that this guy is really talented. I forgot to ask his name since the bus was about to pull out already. However, he agreed that I would take pictures of his project.
After a few cuts and heat on a straw, he manage to make a flower out of it and attached it to the plastic bottle that he formed into a tree....
The finished product.....
Truly the Filipino has a lot of skills. Perhaps the only thing that we lack is support.

Only In The Philippines....
I was heading on my way to Davao from Butuan as we pass along Agusan Del Sur. What captured my attention was the tricycle plying the route. Of course we all know that tricycles are common modes of transportation in all corners of our country. They come in different designs but they all have one thing in common... they are driven by a single motorcycle. Well if you take a look at this, you will surely be amazed and perhaps would say... ONLY IN THE PHILIPPINES....
Driving this will surely need great skills to balance. A little shift or movement from one passenger will surely create and impact along the run and could cause an accident. But nevertheless people take the risk of riding and as our bus pass along, I took a glimpse of the passengers faces... they are not bothered at all.
Well perhaps what is important for them is that they arrive at their destination and that they are used to such kind of transportation. I just can't help but wonder.. what if the load is not balance, is it manageable?
As our bus cruise along the road, I found my answer......
An amazing skill of balancing and driving. Well, what can I say.. ONLY IN THE PHILIPPINES!
